Problem: I encountered difficulty loading filament through the standard sensor. This was especially true for filaments of non-ideal shape — cut, broken, previously extracted, or bent.
Solution: I designed and manufactured my own sensor for the FlyingBear S1/InfimechTx, which now loads filament of any initial configuration without any problems.
Basis: I used the original PCB and button from the FlyingBear S1/InfimechTx filament sensor as a base.
What was needed for the modification:
Removed the plastic actuator (pusher leg) from the button.
A 5 mm diameter metal ball bearing.
A small piece of PTFE tube (about 5 mm).
Manufacturing and Assembly:
The housing was printed on the FlyingBear S1/InfimechTx itself using ABS, with a layer height of 0.1 mm.
The T-shaped part (see the slicing layout photo) had to be split for printing on this model and was later glued together with acetone.
Main Advantage: For the FlyingBear S1/InfimechTx, this is a real upgrade — filament can now be easily loaded both from the inside (also a modification) and from the outside (from the standard spool). See the photos of the result.
