🎼 Duke Ellington – Bust
This bust pays tribute to Duke Ellington, one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz, a visionary composer, pianist, and bandleader whose work shaped the sound of the 20th century.
Inspired by an iconic portrait, the model presents a strictly frontal view, with an upright posture and a calm, composed expression, reflecting the elegance, confidence, and authority that defined Duke Ellington’s presence.
The facial proportions are carefully respected, while the sculpting approach favors clear forms, readable volumes, and strong, well-defined features, in the spirit of classical busts.
The intentionally restrained level of detail draws attention to what matters most:
the structure of the face, the line of the gaze, and the dignified attitude of the composer, without unnecessary ornamentation. This refined approach reinforces the timeless quality of the bust and its connection to traditional sculpture.
A sober and elegant tribute to a giant of jazz, designed to naturally complement a collection of great musical and cultural figures.
