Hello!

This is a remix and redesign of a K1C Filament Runout Sensor mount, created to solve a very specific (and very annoying) problem: filament jamming and awkward routing when loading filament from the rear of the K1C.

The goal was to allow smooth, jam-free filament loading from:

The rear-left or The rear-right

…and still be able to easily transition back to the center rail filament path without fighting the filament or forcing awkward bends.

🧩 Design Overview

This remix repositions the K1C filament runout sensor to a more central and forgiving location, allowing filament to naturally flow into the sensor from multiple rear-mounted spool paths.

I’ve included two versions:

Version 2 – Compact / Standard

Designed to fit comfortably on standard print beds

Central sensor placement

Ideal for most users who just want better filament routing

Version 1 – Extended Left Plate (Remix-Friendly)

Adds a larger mounting plate on the left side

Intended for:

Custom tool holders

Additional brackets

Further remixes and unique alignment solutions

❗ Important Notice:
This full-size version will NOT fit on a 220 × 220 × 250 mm build volume as a single piece.
It will need to be split and reassembled using slicer connector features (such as dovetails, pins, or alignment keys).

🔩 Hardware & Filament Routing Features

PC4-M10 Bowden Fitting Support

This design is specifically made to accept a PC4-M10 fitting at the bottom:

Allows the Bowden tube to lock securely

Prevents pull-out or misalignment

Ideal for users routing filament cleanly from the rear of the machine

Top Filament Entry

The top section is sized for a snug Bowden tube fit

Provides smooth filament entry without excessive friction or bending

Bottom Filament Lock

The PC4-M10 threaded section ensures a secure and reliable filament path

Makes filament changes quick, repeatable, and fuss-free

🛠 Why It’s Designed This Way

This layout allows:

Clean rear filament routing from either side

Easy transition back to the center rail

Reduced filament stress and binding

Much smoother loading and unloading

Fewer jams and less “printer wrestling”

The extended plate version also gives other makers a solid base for remixing, expanding, or building their own accessories on top of it.

💡 Final Notes

Designed with real-world filament handling in mind

Remix-friendly by intention

Built to support Bowden-based setups cleanly and securely

I hope this helps improve your K1C experience — and I’d love to see any remixes or additions you come up with! 😊
