You requested it many times, and your prayers have been answered.
Here it is, the second version of my viral raclette board, now with foldable and self-locking table legs.
The initial tests were successful, but please keep in mind that this is still a prototype.
I'm happy to consider any suggestions for improvement.
The good news… all parts are printed and assembly is very easy.
1. Parts list
- printed parts
- one piece of filament
2. Remove retaining clips from built-in supports.
3. Test whether the filament fits through all the holes
- The filament should be difficult to insert and fit snugly.
- If it's too difficult to insert, pre-drill with a toothpick or a 2mm drill bit
(the bearing MUST be tight and snug, therefore drilling may be necessary depending on the tolerance of your printer)
4. Thread the filament through the clips and the hole in the stand.
5. Cut off the ends
6. Open the clips and screw them in through the holes.
CAUTION!!! Tighten by hand only, NOT with a power drill, otherwise the screws will split the clip.
(Alternatively or additionally, the clip can also be glued on.)
