3D Printer Bed Scraper

Designed to use snap-in blades that are quick to print and easy to design.  The main body was designed to  work best when printed with PLA, but the blades can be from other plastics that have better properties for  flexibility, strength, edge durability, etc.  I've included 5 different blade designs (3 different angled straight edges, a wedged edge, and a rounded edge).

I have included both versions as project files (.3mf) with pre-painted supports to make printing a breeze.

UPDATE:

I added a second version that has a magnet, so attaching it to a useful location near the printer is more convenient.  It takes a 10mm x 3mm magnet.  My magnets measure closer to 10mm x 2.8mm, but either should work fine.

Print Settings:

Scraper Body:
  • PLA Plastic

  • 0.2 mm layer height

  • Painted on supports as illustrated here:

For best results...if you inspect the model after you slice it the supports shouldn't overlap the gap on the bottom of the scraper:

Blades:
  • Any plastic

  • 0.2mm layer height

  • no supports

Designing Custom Blades:

It is easy to design your own blades.  The basic design is shown below.  The thickness is 5mm and there is a 2.5mm chamfer around the side and top edges on both the top and bottom of the blade.  Everything from about 5mm below the rounded rectangular opening can be however you want.  The rectangular opening also works best with a .5mm chamfer around it's top and bottom edges.
