This OpenSCAD script illustrates customized signs using the template models provided. These will fit my Shadowbox Frames, like all of my signs.
For artwork, I have had best results stomping pictures into 1 bit black and white (black background), at resolutions of 600x600 or so. OpenSCAD begins to gag on artwork as it gets bigger, and exhibits rendering errors that may be mitigated with the trim parameter to the artwork module.
If you need fonts try Google Fonts which I've found very useful. See OpenSCAD docs for more on how to use them.
