My daughter wanted something to honor the Japanese heritage of her fiancee, so I designed this napkin ring based on the やばね/yabane pattern which symbolizes steadfastness and good luck. The pattern is used on many wedding kimonos.
Because it was part of decor for the wedding feast, the bride and groom also wanted to have いただきます (itadakimasu) inscribed on the inside which roughly translates to "I humbly partake".
