This project lets your printer unspool filament automatically.
This helps if you want to effectively recycle your filament.
 

Features

Usage

  1. Download the .py script

  2. Right click on the parent folder, select “Open in terminal”

  3. Execute the script

  4. Transfer .gcode to your printer using the sd card

  5. Manually set the z height to ~10cm

  6. Execute the gcode

python generate_unspool_gcode.py --unit g --total 100 --step .5 --x 110 --y 110 --speed 500

=> Generates .gcode that will unspool 100g of filament in .5g steps at 500mm/min speed on x=110 and y=110.
