This is a heavy‑duty metal tape winder designed to securely hold and dispense stainless‑steel banding/tape used in industrial, electrical, HVAC, and general repair applications.
The goal is to keep metal strapping organized, tangle‑free, protected, and ready to deploy while working in the field or shop.

The winder features:

• Rigid, high‑strength body engineered for everyday use

• Smooth central hub that allows the band to unwind effortlessly

• Side guide walls that keep the coil aligned during operation

• Integrated pull‑tab lid for sealing the cover (cyanoacrylate required)

• Portable, lightweight design ideal for toolbags and service vehicles

• No‑support 3D printing for quick manufacturing

This design fully eliminates the frustration of metal tape unrolling unexpectedly, bending, or getting sharp edges tangled — all common problems when transporting stainless‑steel strapping.

💡 Why I Designed This

Stainless‑steel banding is incredibly useful, but the factory rolls are messy and difficult to transport. Without a proper holder, the coil often collapses, bends, or tangles, making it dangerous and time‑consuming to use.
After dealing with repeated frustration in daily work, I created this winder to keep the band tight, controlled, and always ready to deploy with one hand.

It has since become an essential part of my toolkit.
