Modular String Winder
There are a number of good models for a string winder out there, but most of them were for guitar and a little clunky for use on my mandolin. It's a pretty simple design to do a print in place string winder so I just did a modular one so I won't have to go looking for other sizes in the future. The design is driven by a handful of global parameters in Fusion so it can be made to fit any size tuner. Otherwise it's a simple block model with fillets and a little texture for grip.
Modifying the file
I've included STL files in two different sizes, but any size can be created from the Fusion file. If you want a custom size, I've included the Fusion file. For those with no Fusion experience the most important dimensions can be changed by simply changing some parameters ("Solid"->"Modify"->"Change Parameters"). If you have even a little Fusion experience though, pretty much everything about this model is very easy to change.
Printing
Print it flat on it's side. The only support you may need is right under the lip of the tuner opening but if (unlike me) you actually take the time to tune your printer, you may just be able to bridge it.
