Minimalist Modular Chess Piece Set

This is a minimalist modular chess piece set designed as a parametric system and originally created in December 2022.

Each piece is multi-part and hollow, designed to be assembled by press-fit. The fit is firm but not aggressive — assembly should be done carefully, without forcing parts. No glue, sanding, cutting, or post-processing is required. The pieces are ready to assemble straight from the printer.

All models are provided print-ready:

• Properly oriented

• Correctly spaced on the build plate

• Optimized for clean printing

• No supports required by the design itself

The geometry is designed to print support-free.
However, if your printer struggles with long bridges (the longest bridge is ~1.6 cm on the rook), you may optionally enable supports from build plate only for small overhangs. This is printer-dependent, not model-dependent.

Photos were printed in translucent PETG.
Because the pieces are hollow, LEDs can be inserted inside them (shown in the last photo) — this is optional and purely aesthetic.

The full piece can be scaled uniformly.
However, scaling individual parts separately is not recommended, as it will affect the press-fit tolerances and the quality of the assembly.

No calibration, no hacks, no tricks:
