Inspired by a brutalist lamp design from another maker, I set out to create my own interpretation as a way to learn and practice Fusion 360. The focus was on simple geometry, repetition, and light diffusion rather than ornamentation.
The lamp is a two-part print:
Shroud: Designed to be printed in PETG or any translucent filament for soft, even light diffusion
Base: Can be printed in any standard filament (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.)
It uses an E12 butterfly tension socket, allowing you to install virtually any E12 bulb so you can tune brightness and color temperature to your space.
Printing Notes
The base requires supports (though there’s room to get clever with orientation or custom supports if you want to experiment)
The shroud requires no supports, but because the walls are thin, strong bed adhesion is critical for a successful print
This project was primarily a learning exercise, but it ended up being a functional and atmospheric lamp that fits well into minimalist or brutalist interiors.
