Description

This hook can be configured using this Onshape project. The simplest way to do this is to use configurations of the 'Module' part studio (see 'Hanger assembly' for example). Things that can be configured this way:

  • Embeddeed magnets that hold hooks in the closed position - enable/disable

  • Attachment style - adhesive or bolt attachment. In bolt attachment configuration prisms work as a bolt covers and use dovetails for positioning

  • Prism lengths/offsets for custom profiles

For more in-depth configuration see Variable Studio. Be advised that hook endstop is implemented using in-context edit and needs to be regenerated manually if you'll change opening parameters.

This project also includes the drill template with drillbit conductors and a back cover with embedded nuts. These are designed strictly for 4-hook version. Nevertheless they are simple enough to be adjusted to another size.

Printing recommendations

The default 4-hook configuration prints well with a 0.6 mm nozzle and is tailored to fit on the Prusa Core One build plate. Recommended print orientations are shown in the attached images and included 3MF files.

  • Use support enforcers for the backing plate

  • For adhesive mounting (no dovetails), print with the wall-facing side up

If using embedded magnets:

  • Add pauses in the slicer for magnet insertion

  • Pay close attention to the layer where the pause is inserted

    • PrusaSlicer inserts pauses at the start of a layer

    • Place the pause on the roof layer, otherwise the nozzle may collide with the magnet

Note that 3mf files include priming objects in the upper left corner - they are needed to prime nozzle after pausing for inserting magnets or nuts. As i understand, Prusa Slicer does not guarantee any print order, so you need to verify that they are printed first after the pause.
