If you own a Tajima LC-500 knife for long enough, chances are that the grey cap on the end of the housing will eventually break and/or mysteriously vanish. Sure, you could use the knife without an end cap like an animal, but why not just print a replacement off instead?
This does sacrifice the blade snapper of the factory end cap, but that's what pliers/strong fingers/cupboard doors are for, right? The cap is however hollow in all the right places to accommodate the factory spare blade storage.
Three versions of the model are available, differing only in the depth of the tooth that latches the cap onto the knife, as I found that my two "identical" knives handled the first version I printed differently. 0.5mm gives the loosest fit, 0.7mm gives the tightest.
It's best to print this standing on its end, for which you will need to use your slicer to add a support part way up the sloping face as shown in the second photo. Other than that one detail, printing is super easy – 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, however many walls you feel like. PLA and PETG have both printed this well.
