My truck has an OEM trailer brake controller, but occasionally someone needs to borrow the trailer who doesn't have a brake controller. I keep this mounted inside the trailer, just in case.
You will need a cheap bungee cord from Amazon, which passes through a channel in the back of the mount. This secures the brake controller so that it doesn't bounce out when you hit a pothole or something.
