Reusable-Chain-Casting-Mold
The chain fits onto the 4248957 wheel. I printed everything from PLA. I tried it with silicone and it worked well.
How to do:
Stick the two parts of the outer ring with adhesive tape together.
Slide this ring and the inner ring into the housing to prevent them from moving.
Fill the silicone into the gap between the inner and outer ring.
Tap the housing lightly to release air bubbles.
Repeat step 3 and 4 until the mold is completely filled and no more bubbles appear. This could take a bit of time.
Wait until the silicone is cured. (I waited a whole week but it should be possible to continue earlier)
After that remove the housing from the inner and outer ring.
Cut off the excess silicone with a knife.
Pull off the tape.
Pull off the smaller part of the outer ring.
Bend the ends of the larger outer ring apart and remove it.
Push the inner ring away from the chain.
Clean the chain with water.
Congratulations! - You casted your own self-made chain!
