Salt and pepper grinders with TPU knobs

These salt & pepper shakers use a base of PETG or PLA, with the black or white handle in TPU.  Use sea salt and peppercorns.

The internal grinding mechanism is https://www.crushgrind.com/products/crushgrind-shaft 123 mm version.  The mechanisms are widely available, often sold by woodworking stores.  [BIG OOPS: I originally identified the mechanism as 135mm.  If you already ordered the 135mm mechanism and need the corresponding model, let me know, I will upload.  The only difference is that the main body is 12mm longer, no change in details.]

Very important print settings:  PLA doesn't adhere to TPU, and even PETG isn't great.  This model is made possible by using beam interlocking in the Multiple Extruders print settings:

For TPU you want to use the textured build plate.  Also in Multiple Extruders settings, set Wipe Tower Extruder to your TPU extruder, otherwise your wipe tower may not stick to the build plate.

Lastly, print both parts upside down from the STL orientation (I will fix it ...).  The base needs supports enabled.

Assembly:  the mechanism is a tight fit into the printed parts.  For the base, line up the tabs of the grinder to the slots inside the base.  After you get it partially in you probably won't be lined up exactly.  Carefully pull the grinder out a bit until you can grab enough of the grinder base to rotate to line up perfectly, then push in the grinder.  It helps to push down on a table or counter top because the tabs of the grinder are really stiff.  For the top, the alignments a bit easier, but again the tabs are really stiff.  Line up as accurately as possible, then push down on a table to seat the mechanism.  Hold your thumb against the bottom grinder adjustment knob when putting the top on, otherwise there will be a gap of a couple mm.
