I got tired of my jerky gun rolling onto its side and getting in the way. This cradle keeps it in place.

I've got a jerky gun that's a constant hassle to store. When you stand it up in the cupboard, it always manages to find a way to lay down sideways and get tangled up in allll the other things in behind it. I made this little cradle. The tube diameter on the gun is 54mm, and the length between the outside edges of the cradle are 330.0mm, but it should be easily modified if you need to change that up a bit.
Printing notes:
(Before we get started, the red/black color scheme was totally by (happy) accident; I ran out of black filament. The file is not intended to be multi-color, but I really do dig a two tone print with this, so if you're downloading with the intent to use multiple filament colors, please do post some photos. I'd love to see what you come up with!)
Print 2 cradles and 1 spine
Print all parts with the bottom on the build plate
Supports required. Just on the print bed should be fine, to support the overhang on the cradle dovetails.
15% infill is more than enough
No brim should be required unless you've got adhesion issues.
Assembly notes:
The cradle in the photos had some weird geometry issue in the dovetails. I've cleaned that up for the file you're getting so you shouldn't have any issue. The good side of my prototype locks togehter snugly without any adhesives or fasteners. Your mileage may vary, but a little dab of CA glue in there would keep this thing together forever.
My jerky gun is really light, and the finish is incredibly smooth, so it rotates quite freely. Still, Once I've set it in place, it does hold still. If you are trying to support something that's less cooperative, a little dab of silicone, OR a think layer of cork, OR a thin piece of rubber stuck to the cradle bottom will stop any serious turning..
Designer's note:
Happy Printing! If you have any trouble, suggestions or feedback, please send me a note. And definitely share photos of your own prints. I'd love to know this was helpful to others!
