Torsion springs offer several advantages over traditional shock cords for launching projectiles in a Nerf grenade:

Assembly:
The grenade is assembled similarly to the original, but there is one key difference. You need to slide the torsion spring into the top cap and then insert the rod core between them. This can be tricky, so I recommend clipping the wire on the spring after it is roughly halfway on to ensure that the spring does not unravel.
