CORE One and One L TPU Feet Upgrade:

While Prusa CORE One and One L printers are great, a frequent criticism: how poorly the rubber feet stayed attached to the underside of the printer due to the double sided tape, became an annoying issue.

The rubber feet themselves are not the problem, but rather the double sided tape does not adequately hold the feet in place. I experienced this issue when I was unboxing my CORE One L. One of the back feet peeled off leaving the tape in place and the foot under my work station.

I wanted a different option which could be held in place with hardware, printed in individual pieces with single filament printers or as a single piece with multi-filament printer, and fit the existing feet size profile.

Combined version is a single body which utilizes multiple material painting to achieve a PETG and TPU within a single piece. The regular version has two bodies and the bodies require gluing.

Printing and Installation:

  • Print either: two separate pieces (1. PETG, 2. TPU) or combined PETG and TPU

  • If printing PETG and TPU separately, use cyanoacrylate glue (Super glue) to affix the TPU into the PETG Base

  • Mount the feet to the underside of the CORE One or CORE One L using M3x6mm Hex Socket Screw

Hardware Required:

Files Included:

  • CORE One Feet Upgrade CAD STEP

  • CORE One Feet Upgrade CAD F3Z

  • CORE One Feet Upgrade (two separate bodies) STL

  • CORE One Feet Combined Upgrade (one body) STL

Recommended Printing Settings:

  • 0.2 mm Layer Height

  • 5 Top/Bottom Layer

  • 3 Perimeters

  • 15-20% Infill Cubic

  • --> Prusa Multiple Extruders (PrusaSlicer)

    • turn on Interface Shells

    • turn on Use Beam Interlocking

Notes:

This design fits within the existing foot dimensions and will not change the overall height of the printer. I only tried 95A filament. I imagine softer TPU material would work possibly even better offering more vibration dampening.

Flexible filament must be as dry as it can be gotten to obtain clean prints.
