I created and have used this vise as a cheaper alternative to commercially available ones. It is meant to be easy to assemble, with accessible hardware. Mine has been printed in PLA with 3mm walls and has held up really well. While not as good a commercially available models, it does a fantastic job on a budget!
Materials list
1/2" x 8" or 10" bolt (I used zinc plated for the look, but galvanized might have a better hold)
1/4" x 3" bolt
1/4" fender washer
1/4" bolt
Assembly instructions:
if printing the knob with the embedded nut, make sure to pause and insert the nut in the correct place
Use construction adhesive to attach the 1/2" bolt to the work plate. This might be a tight fit.
Insert the 1/4 bolt into the pivot
Place the pivot inside round hole at the top of the base piece
Screw on the knob
