I have created this model because I think the original Switch 2 dock ist too clunky on the go.
For the assembly all the original hardware from a donor Switch 2 dock is necessary.
It is designed in the way that the USB ports are facing forward for better accessibility.
The spring mechanics are used as well as the Status-LED from the original dock.
Printed with 0.16 mm layer hight with PETG-CF from ELEGOO
Used Color: Carbon Fiber Red
The pictures show the assembly and what hardware was used at what location.
LED PCB is fixed with he same screw to the adapter as it was on the original dock.
LED bracket is screwed to the bottom with the same screw as on the original dock assembly.
The LED adapter is screwed to the bottom with the shorter Y-point screws.
The fan is assembled with the same screws as on the original dock.
The mainboard is assembled to the bottom with the original screws.
The spring mechanics are assembled with the same screws from the original dock.
The top and middle part are assembled with the longer y-point screws from the original dock.
The top part needs to be turned around its own axis to twist the ribbon cable to avoid bends and damages.
Pay attention not to damage any ribbon cables (especially the smaller ones for the LED and the fan). Makes sure not to pinch them between parts during assembly, too.
Pay attention to fit the top and bottom part in the corresponding guides.
One corner has a snap fit because the network connector doesn't leave space for another screw. For me it worked best to snap in that corner first. The bottom and middle parts are screwed in with the shorter Y-point srecws.
I have used the 4 rubber feet from the original dock on the bottom surface.
