This is a custom 3D printable enclosure designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) stacked on the Waveshare Nano Base Board (B) creating an ultra-compact, high-performance mini computer roughly the size of the CM5 module itself.
The Waveshare CM5 Nano B is an excellent carrier board that matches the CM5 footprint while adding essential I/O:
Gigabit Ethernet
USB 3.2 Gen1 ports
Mini HDMI (4K support)
3.5mm audio jack
40-pin GPIO header
And more...
all in a tiny form factor perfect for embedded projects, drones, kiosks, retro gaming handhelds, or space-constrained builds.
Case Features:
Precise fit for the CM5 + Waveshare Nano B stack
Openings for all ports: Gigabit Ethernet RJ45, USB, Mini HDMI, 3.5mm audio, USB-C power (if used), and GPIO access
Integrated mounting/support for a small cooling fan + heatsink (designed for common CM5-compatible active cooling kits)
Ventilation slots for improved airflow to keep your CM5 running cool under load
Easy assembly: simple two-part design (base + lid) with screw holes for secure closure (M2 or similar recommended)
Bottom mounting holes for easy installation in your project
Clean, minimalist look with rounded edges
Recommended Components:
Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (any variant: Lite or eMMC)
Waveshare Nano Base Board (B) > the compact carrier that makes this build possible
Heatsink with Fan
Printing Tips:
Material: PLA or PETG (PETG for better heat resistance)
Infill: 15-25%
Layer height: 0.2mm
Supports: Minimal or none needed (designed support-free in most orientations)
Orientation: Print base flat on bed, lid upside-down
(I used TPU red color since I wanted a flexible case and PETG for cap)
Perfect for turning your CM5 into a powerful, tiny SBC without the bulk of larger carrier boards. Great for portable or embedded applications!
