Disclaimer: The low‑cost USB‑C connector version (see pictures) used for this mod does not fully comply with the USB‑C specification. In particular, it may not work with USB‑C to USB‑C cables. A USB‑A to USB‑C cable is recommended.
This model is a USB‑C conversion mod for the Wahl Magic Clip. It replaces the original proprietary charging port with a modern USB‑C connector, making the clipper easier and more convenient to charge with standard cables.
The modification requires soldering and is not a plug‑and‑play upgrade. The original charging port must be desoldered and replaced with a compatible USB‑C connector or breakout board. Basic soldering skills and knowledge of electronics are required. This modification is performed at your own risk.
The printed part is designed to securely hold and correctly align the new USB‑C port within the existing housing of the Magic Clip. The position of the PCB for the LED charging indicator remains unchanged, ensuring that the charging light functions exactly as it did with the original port.
For installation, the small retaining clips on the USB‑C connector must be cut off so the port fits properly into the printed part. After positioning it correctly, the USB‑C connector needs to be glued into the 3D‑printed model to secure it in place.
I used PETG for the print. Always verify polarity and connections before powering on the device and test the installation before fully reassembling the clipper.
This model is designed for the Wahl Magic Clip wireless version and is not affiliated with Wahl.
