Note
I recommend using second hand/recycled parts from old printers. It makes absolutely no sense to source all the parts new.

Tip
Use the Voron Trident assembly guide to build the bed arms and the A/B motor mounts. Please note that the orientation of some bolts are different from the original. Check the threads.. https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Trident/blob/main/Manual/Assembly_Manual_Trident.pdf Refer to the BFI idlers to print the original STLs for carrier and front. https://github.com/clee/VoronBFI

Some key information the design and build:

  • Max printable area 215x230x220, (X restricted by toolhead width)

  • 2020 extrusions

  • 1x SKR Pico and 1x SKR 1.4 controller boards (not critical, use whatever you have that have enough drivers and can run Klipper)

  • Radxa Rock 3C SBC (or a Pi. SBC with 3-4 USB ports recommended)

  • MGN 12H rails/carriage X

  • 10mm rods and bearings on Y

  • 8mm rods and bearings on Z

  • Corexy

  • Klipper firmware

  • Triple z steppermotors (z-tilt functionality)

  • Sensorless homing on X and Y

  • Dragonburner with Sherpa micro

  • Low budget CPAP solution with 2 x 5015 fans (remix for ws7040 to get even more cooling)

  • 1 x 240W 24V power supply

Cutting extrusions

  • 4x2020 500mm for Z

  • 8x2020 350mm for X and Y

Extrusions for the bed assy in my build with a 220x220 base plate and a 214x214 24V heat bed)

  • 1x2020 268mm center

  • 1x2020 220mm front

Tip
Check the frame for squareness and adjust/correct as needed. Mount the 3 z-motor mounts with M5 10mm bolts. The motor mounts makes the frame more rigid. Check the frame again for squareness.
