Just take of the joy stick and with a bit of pressure you should be able to insert the gate into the joystick hole. The clip is very strong so it wont come out or turn if you don't want it to. I printed it in clear pla with a .2 mm nozzle, a single wall and aligned rectilinear infill so that the light would come through properly
