Drainpipe downpipe profile wedges

These clamp wedges were created to enable the Fence-Mounted Type 2 EV Cable Holder  to be mounted on to an EU DIN100 downpipe. They could be used for mounting many other things in a similar way. 

How It Works

Two or four wedges sit on the drainpipe, one at each cable tie slot position on the holder backplate, and optionally two behind for maximum contact.

Each wedge has:

• A flat front face (90mm wide) that the holder backplate sits flush against

• A concave curved back face machined to the 100mm/110mm pipe radius

• Locating ridges on each side to prevent the holder sliding laterally

• Cable tie channels on each side face, aligned with the holder's existing cable tie slots

A single cable tie per wedge passes through the side channel, around the pipe or rear clamp, and back - securing both the wedge to the pipe and the holder to the wedge simultaneously.

The STL is provided to allow other variations to be made. Note that this design requires minimum diameter of 90mm. To match smaller pipes, the file will require modifying.

Print Settings

• Material: ASA recommended (outdoor UV and heat exposure) - PETG as minimum

• Quantity: Print 2 copies

• Layer height: 0.2mm

• Perimeters: 4 minimum

• Infill: 40% or higher

• Supports: None required - print flat face down

• Orientation: Flat front face on bed
