A puzzle to drive perfectionists crazy. The original (I think) inspiration can be found here: https://vimeo.com/20824303.
The trick is that the ring is actually a subtle helix and the sections will always be slightly off. My version is more subtle than the original as a preference.
Changes
This remix replaces the pins and blocks used to index the ring section halves together with sort bits of 1.75mm filament as pins. The fit on the filament pins should be tight to align halves properly.
The new stand still has a slot for decorative medals which can be found remixed from the original puzzle.
Assembly
- Rings segments are split in half (a & b) for easier printing.
- Included 3mf files with ring parts packed into MK3 and Mini build area.
- Make pins by cutting lengths of 1.75m filament to about 5mm.
- Alternatively, insert filament into slot on one side and cut with about 2mm exposed.

- Each segment has slots for 4 or 5 filament pins but 2 or 3 is probably sufficient.
- (Optional) Glue ring sections together.
- Leave in disordered state on desk to trick passersby into trying to “fix it”.
