Instructions:
Download the rear cutout file in step or stl, and design your case around it leaving sufficient material around the corners for it to print properly.
Print a "mount" and "cap", mount prints with the flat part on the bed, and cap prints with the hollow part facing upward.
attach the mount to the doorpost with 2 #6 pan head screw, or mounting tape, insert the mezuzah, and click on the cap. The designed case can then hook on to the top edge then click on the bottom.

Most "designer" or specialty mezuzah cases as well as 3D printed offerings focus entirely on aesthetics, leaving a simple cavity in the back and some mounting tape for attaching it to the doorpost. Many common plastic cases are practical, allowing for screw or nail mounting and featuring water resistant designs with rubber plugs, however they are less desirable in terms of aesthetics. I have attempted to solve this problem by separating the case into two parts, the internal "mount" can be screwed in with standard #6 pan head screws, and is fully enclosed with a plug on the bottom. It can be reopened easily even while attached for checking, and prints with no supports. The designer is left with a large degree of freedom in terms of designing the external case, which hooks and clicks into place, and can be swapped out at will. The cavity is also designed to print with zero support material in most common print orientations. Please leave attribution if you use this to design your mezuzah case.
