400% upscaled forklift model for playing or as a display piece.

Instructions:

In the attached files you will find the "Assembly instructions" this is a detailed document explaining how all the different components should be put together. I also created a handy checklist to keep track of how far along you are in acquiring all the parts.

I would recommend you start with reading the "Assembly instructions".

Expectation management:

Before you start printing this model it is important to know the following things.

  • You will need to source the remaining brick models on the internet. I would recommend checking out https://www.printables.com/@thall72. The "Parts check list” will show you what bricks you need and how many.

  • The model requires a lot of hardware to put together. Unless you have most stuff laying around expect to pay around 30 euros in hardware.

  • For the model to work you need to have the tools required for cutting, drilling and tapping steel shafts. You also need to file down some aluminum parts.

  • You need a screwdriver with a flexible shaft (like the one found in Ifixit kit).

  • Some sanding of edges and drilling of holes is required to make the bricks snap together nicely and for the bolts to fit.

Please don't see this as a discouragement, but as a good thing to keep in the back of your mind while doing this project.

Recommendations for a remix:

It would be awesome If you love the model so much that you want to pick up where I left off. I would recommend that the following improvements are made to the model (but it is of course up to you to decide).

  • Significantly reduce the amount of hardware required

  • Better tolerances and optimization to reduce the amount of post processing

  •  Printable minifigure driver

  • Cargo container accessory like the ones in set 10159

  • RC?!

Filament and printer settings:

To print this model I used 20 percent infill. Most of the parts require supports. It is recommended to add brims to prevent warping on large surface area parts. If a part might not fit on your build plate orient it diagonally for a little bit of extra space.

Good luck printing and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
