This bonsai pot was designed as a test to see how well a 3D printed planter holds up to outdoor conditions.
I recommend printing the main body inverted with supports, so that all the overhang will be covered by the liner. I recommend printing with 8 wall loops.
The design offers different liner options depending on your needs. Gluing the liner into the base is probably a good idea, but not necessary.
Liner options:
• Standard bonsai liner – includes integrated drainage mesh and wire anchor points for securing the tree.
• Plug liner – removable plugs allow you to block one or both drainage holes while still allowing wire tie-downs.
• No-drain liner – For moisture-loving plants. (It won’t be fully watertight unless sealed or glued).
