Copy Ring for Festool OF1400

This is a copy ring for Festool OF 1400 router. Thanks to ChowS on Makerworld for making the initial model. I remixed it so that you can print your own inserts.

The accuracy and robustness of a 3D printed model will not be sufficient for extended use or as a permanent solution, but it might come in handy if you suddenly need a special size and only need occasional use or to test a specific size before buying. Please also note that the accuracy of a 3D printed version will not be as good as a metal one. I highly recommend the original copy ring for extended usage and for precise work.

Important note: Since this is made of plastic, the model might break during use. Please be careful during use. The original copy ring in metal should be used for extensive use.

Inserts and use

In addition to the copy ring frame that is mounted in the router, you will also need to print the applicable insert. These needs to be glued to the copy ring frame. I used super glue (cyanoacrylate), which worked very well.

The following sizes are available:

• 17mm

• 24mm

• 27mm

• 30mm

• 40mm (print the 24mm insert and add the 40mm outer ring in addition)

Printing notes

Recommend to use a strong filament and add extra wall loops to increase the strength. No supports needed. I had great success with Spectrum Filaments Premium PLA and the strength seemed to be fine.
