Electrolux/AEG Drying Cabinet Bracket (Strong)

This bracket is one of the main reasons I love 3D printing!  This is a functional 3D-replicated spare part for the internal hanging arm brackets found in many Scandinavian and European drying cabinets. The original plastic part often becomes brittle over time due to heat exposure, leading to failure. 

Why 3D Print This?

The OEM replacement part (Art. No: 3516591033) is currently priced at approximately €14 / 154 SEK per unit  (2026.03.22). By printing this yourself, you can restore your drying cabinet's functionality at a fraction of the commercial cost while ensuring your appliance stays out of the landfill—was it even worth the time I spent designing, printing, testing, re-design,printing again, testing, re-design again,printing, testing… Yes, it absolutely was!

Design & Print Orientation

Why is the appearance different from the original part?

To facilitate printing in the high-strength orientation, the geometry was modified to minimize overhangs. The "bulkiness" also helped prevent it from cracking when installing the mounting screw in the part (the earlier “slimmer” versions cracked). There's also added thickness to the upper gripping lip of the part. The only support structures are custom supports on the partition wall at the opening of the part and under the alignment pin.

Compatibility

This bracket is a standard component used by the Electrolux Group. It is compatible with a wide range of drying cabinets from the following brands:

• Electrolux

• AEG

• Husqvarna

• Zanussi

• Rosenlew

Note: It is always recommended to verify your specific model's PNC number (a 9-digit code starting with 9) against the official spare parts list to ensure a perfect fit.

Recommended Print Settings

To ensure the part survives the environment of a drying cabinet, please adhere to these guidelines:

• Material: ASA or ABS are highly recommended (T g ≈ 100°C). They offer the necessary heat resistance to withstand the 60°C–70°C temperatures inside the cabinet without warping. Avoid PLA, as it will soften and fail during the first drying cycle.

• Layer Height: 0,2mm (or a multiple or decimal of 0.2) to ensure the custom supports come off easily

• Infill: 40% or higher (Rectilinear or Gyroid) for structural strength.

• Walls: At least 6–9 perimeters to handle the mechanical load of wet laundry.
