Update 2: Adjusted the dew shield cap to sit flush when closed.
Update 1: Adjusted the finder dovetail for better compatibility with finder shoes.
Case for the Cedar DIY astronomical plate-solving system. Recommend components for this build:
Raspberry Pi Zero 2W (with or without headers)
Innomaker IMX462 CSI camera module (color version is fine)
25mm M12 lens
32GB or larger microSD card
(Optional) Raspberry Pi heat sinks
Print the main case and the dew shield with supports.
To assemble:
Install the CSI camera cable onto the board first. Be very careful, as the board-side port is extremely fragile.
Install the flashed microSD card in the board. It can be removed later via tweezers from the top opening.
Place the board face down with the microUSB port facing the power port opening. It's best to angle the board so that the port side is down first, then gently push the rest of the board in place. Make sure that the board mounting holes are lined up with the pillars.
Connect the camera cable to the camera module.
Place the camera module on the camera standoffs. The cable port should be facing away from the dovetail.
Adjust the camera cable so everything is within the case. Ensure correct orientation of the lid (dew shield opening shifted away from the dovetail), then press the lid onto the case, snapping all sides.
Assemble the dew shield and dew shield cap using the hinge.
Place the dew shield onto lid opening with the hinge facing towards the dovetail, and twist counter-clockwise to lock.
Push microSD card plug into the top opening.
