A Case For Glasses

This is a compact, custom-designed case for glasses. Make sure to check the dimensions against your own pair before printing, as fit may vary depending on frame size and shape.

The design uses a simple hinge mechanism: insert a short piece of filament through the hinge holes to act as a pin/rod, allowing both halves to stay securely connected while still opening smoothly.

Printing Recommendations:

• Base Material: PLA or ABS (for rigidity and structural support)

• Top Lid (Optional): TPU (for flexibility and better impact resistance)

• Layer Height: 0.16–0.2 mm for a good balance of detail and speed

• Infill: 15–25% (grid or gyroid recommended)

• Walls/Perimeters: 2–3 walls for durability

• Supports: Not required (depending on your printer’s bridging performance)

• Orientation: Print flat on the base for best stability

Assembly:

• After printing, align the hinge holes.

• Insert a small piece of filament (1.75 mm works perfectly) through the hinge to act as a pin.

• Trim excess filament if needed.

Notes:

• TPU for the top adds a nice soft-touch feel and helps absorb impact, but the design works fully in rigid materials too.

• You can scale the model slightly if your glasses are larger or smaller than average.

• Tolerances are designed for standard FDM printers, but slight sanding may help if your printer runs tight.
