This is print-in-place version of quint89's simplified Laserbeak, designed to fit inside of a G1 Soundwave toy (no clue which one). The original model required 10 pieces and unspecified rods to as joints. There is another remix by Ignacio Vidal, who added a model for the connectors, but I decided to eliminate the need for them altogether.

Update: So I tried printing it. The model prints easily, but the joints are way too loose. I'll revisit this if enough people want me to fix it. The geometry isn't very clean because I had to start with quint89's STL files, but I've included the STEP file I created if you want to modify the tolerances yourself.

Print Instructions
  • No supports required

    • All files are in correct printing orientation

  • 0.3mm or lower layer height

  • 2 perimeters or more

Assembly
  • To prevent low bed adhesion issues, there are several thin joining lines on the bottom layer. These need to be cut off with a knife.

  • There are 3 pieces

  • The 2 boosters are separate when Laserbeak is in cassette mode

  • The boosters have legs that fold out and fit into the main body in jet (bird) mode
