Fold 8 Wide Prototype

For everyone who is excited or curious about the upcoming wide foldable: here's your chance to see, if you like the size and form factor.

The model is based on the most recent (end of march 2026) leaks. It may be a bit on the optimistic (smaller) side, as the hinge is as simple as possible, while still being secure enough to prop up the "phone". The hinge uses four short pieces of filament and should be a snug fit right off the printbed. If not, you could use a 2mm drill on the holes and add a dab of ca glue to secure the filament pieces.

For printability, the camera bump is a separate part that gets glued on afterwards. There's an alignment piece so you don't have to eye ball it ;)

To have a more realistic look, you could use a primary color and black for the screens (plus a bit of white for the flash). In that case I would recommend printing the upper half of the two small hinge pieces in black as well - that way they blend in nicely.

 Don't print the 3mf file as is. Split to objects first! Otherwise the hinge pieces will be printed in mid air.

Update 2026-04-02: Updated the dimensions according to AndroidHeadLines which increased the size of front-back.stl (the other parts remain the same). I really hope these dimensions are NOT correct, as the phone's width would be too wide for my liking.
