Both versions are designed with tight tolerances insuring the weight is perfectly balanced and concentric to the center
The Roly-Poly Penny Egg is a fun, self-righting Easter egg that always stands upright — no stand needed! The secret is a small pocket recessed into the bottom that holds 9 pennies, lowering the center of gravity so the egg naturally rocks back to vertical every time, just like a classic roly-poly toy.
Print Settings:
Layer Height: 0.15mm for a smoother, rounder bottom curve
Raft: Enabled with 15 layers to prevent base warping and ensure a clean, stable first layer
Z Seam: Set to Random to eliminate visible seam lines and keep that smooth egg appearance
Pause Print Command: Add the pause right before it gets sealed up too drop in the 9 pennies
Assembly & Instructions:
Start your print as normal
Drop all 9 pennies into the pocket while the print is paused
Resume the print — the remaining layers will seal the pennies inside automatically
Once complete, set it down and watch it always bounce back upright!
