Introduction:
This modification is a sequential development of the previous version. Let’s be honest — the previous version had several design flaws: mismatched holes and their sizes, as well as general installation inconvenience. Additionally, it wasn’t the most attractive in appearance and was fragile in some areas. Earlier, I worked on adapting the CR-10 print head for the K10 and didn’t plan to revisit or further develop the previous modification. However, at the request of users and with their help, I was able to create an improved version of this modification. So, at the very least, they deserve the credit for it.
About the modification:
Main list of required components:
1) Screws:
1. To mount the "base" to the "carriage," as well as the "fan mount" to the "base," use M3 DIN 912 6mm or 8mm screws (both types fit all holes).
2. To mount the 3010 fan, use M3 DIN 7985 12mm screws.
3. To mount the 4020t fan, use M3 DIN 7985 20mm screws.
2) Components:
1. 1 piece: 4020t 12V <--- (pay close attention to this parameter — it must be exactly as specified!)
2. 3 pieces: 3d printed parts
Installation:
1) Installing the printed parts:
1. Install the "carriage" into the profile slot, tightening the belt.
2. Install the extruder onto the "base" using the original self-tapping screws.
3. Install the fans onto the "fan mount."
4. Assemble everything in the following order:
"carriage" <--- "base" <--- "fan mount".
2) Connection:
The 4020t fan is connected to a free "fan" slot on the control board. It is controlled via the part cooling fan setting in the slicer.
No changes need to be made in the .cfg file, as there are no relevant settings there.
