Description:
It was bugging me that darts would go everywhere when testing with a chronograph, so I was thinking of ways to fix that. I came up with a simple drawstring utility bag, like you would use for sporting equipment. Fire darts through the chronograph and they end up in the bag. It's easy to set up, and easy to take down. All the darts are caught in a convenient place. All of my testing is done on a Caldwell Chronograph 2.0, but this may also work on other models.
Materials:
Super glue
Mesh utility bag
Instructions:
Be sure to trim and sand any rough edges on the model to prevent it from stagging on your bag. Glue the halves of the top together. Let it set a minimum of 6 hours, 24 is best.
1. Install one side metal spoke in the chronograph.
2. Add that side of the lower frame. The cutout should be over the chronograph lens and when swung over the chronograph, the frame should be parallel to it.
3. Add that side of the upper frame. The cutout should be over the chronograph lens and when swung over the chronograph, the frame should be parallel to it.
4. Slide the other metal spoke through the upper frame, lower frame, and finally into the chronograph.
5. Finish setting up the chronograph.
6. Put the drawstring bag over the upper frame in the notch. Leave a bit of slack in the top or loop the drawstring to pull the edge back from the chronograph if you are using a light bar.
7. Put the drawstring bag under the lower frame in the notch.
8. Cinch the drawstring snug, but not tight.
