This project is meant to serve as a "standard library" of parts and materials which can be linked into some other project.  I use it extensively in my own projects -- when I need a motor, for example, or a piece of 2020, a lead screw, a nut trap etc. or when I want to reference rendering materials such as mirrored/chromed steel or blue PETG.

In this project you'll find a selection of metals, plastics, filaments, and other raw materials, various small items like an endstop or motor, four different hotends, several different hobbed gears and a model of what I believe is a standard M8 hobbed bolt, pieces of 8, 10, and 12 mm linear rod, Misumi Series-5 2020, bearings, and more.

If you loaded one of my projects into Blender and it threw a bunch of errors about missing objects or materials, you need this file.

Changelog

2025-06-28: made the union and difference materials translucent like the intersection material, gave all three a wireframe appearance at the material level rather than at the object level, and gave the cubes more meaningful names (kept copies of the old ones in “attic” to avoid breaking anything).

2024-07-28: Fixed some minor sizing errors in the MR30 connector mount/shell.

2024-05-14: Tweaked a few materials, added a few, and added a 25 mm fan.

024-02-02: Added a number of assorted materials, and a handful of discrete electronic components from one of my other projects.  I also tweaked some materials so that when in Viewport shading “Solid” mode, they look a bit closer to how they look in ”Materials" mode.  Note:  I renamed a couple of materials and objects, so files that reference this library may throw warnings.  Shouldn't take much to fix those, as they were poorly-named anyway, and were unlikely to even have been used.

2022-04-29: Added a 0.8 mm variant of the M5 washer, and renamed the 1 mm variant.

2021-09-27: Corrected the filename ("tookit" → “toolkit”).  How the heck did I miss that?

2021-08-26:  added bore-through PC4-M6; M3, M4, M5, M8 washers; a common 20mm extruder spring; "pancake" stepper (23.5 mm body length, 20 mm shaft, plus 2mm hub thickness). Improved accuracy of RPW-Ultra and BLTouch models (especially element lengths and relative positioning)

2020-09-15: Added Micro-Swiss A2 E3D nozzle, modeled based on the technical drawing they sent me.

2020-06-29: Improved the accuracy of the 328x328 bed, replaced its textures with my own work, and fine-tuned the corresponding glass.... and then had to rework the bed again because I didn't spot some holes that got left out until after I uploaded... and then once more because I missed properly-UV-mapping a spot. :-P

2020-06-05: Improved the accuracy of the BLtouch.

2020-06-01: Added a BLTouch model.

2020-04-14: Added a standard 328x328 mm MK2a heated bed, with 320x320 glass and a suitable piece of cardboard. Renamed the frosted lens material and object

2020-02-10: Minor tweaks to the XT-90 shell, to make it fit tighter; added a 40 mm fan from grabcad.

2020-01-10: Reworked the standard drill rack. It now has 1 through 10 mm sizes, in 0.5 mm increments, and 11 through 20 mm in 1 mm increments. Also resized the nut traps to make them both exactly 1 mm thicker than their respective nuts, and added a comparable M5 trap.
