Arduino UNO R4 WiFi Spin Coater Controller + Custom 3D‑Printed Enclosure

This project is a compact, purpose‑built spin‑coater designed primarily for coating 1/3‑size glass squares cut from standard microscope slides. It’s ideal for photoresist application, thin‑film experiments, and small‑format materials research where precision RPM control and repeatable profiles matter.

The enclosure is fully 3D‑printed and houses the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, the BLDC‑8015A motor controller, the RPM sensor, and wiring in a clean, rigid assembly. The included Fusion 360 source files make it easy to adapt the design—whether you want to scale the platform for full microscope slides, build a PCB coater, or integrate different motors and sensors.

System Features

  • Closed‑loop PID motor control with real‑time RPM feedback

  • Web‑based interface served directly from the Arduino (no apps needed)

  • Multi‑step spin profiles with Linear, Exponential, and S‑Curve ramps

  • PID auto‑tuning and PWM‑to‑RPM mapping

  • Safety features including stall detection and overspeed protection

  • Storage for 10 user profiles in EEPROM

  • High‑speed WebSocket telemetry for live RPM charts and status

What’s Included Here

This Printables upload contains the 3D‑printed enclosure and mechanical parts for the controller. The design is parametric, cleanly organized, and easy to modify thanks to the included Fusion 360 models.
