Colour change options : You can achieve colour changes by swapping filaments at different layers. Or you can simply colour the rabbit and flowers with a Sharpie afterwards :)

NOTE: This version of the FloMask decorative insert is printed with a 1 mm gap between the filter and the insert (visible at the back of the insert in the second picture).

To print it easily flat on the printer bed, I use a PETG dummy to fill the gap. Here’s how I do it:

  1. Print the PETG dummy file.

  2. Start printing the PLA insert and pause just before the central pattern begins (for me it was around layer 7 — check your slicer preview).

  3. Place the printed PETG dummy inside the outer ring of the insert that has already been printed.

  4. Resume the print.

PLA doesn’t stick well to PETG, so the central pattern prints nicely on top of the dummy. Once the print is finished, you can easily remove the dummy.

NB: After printing, you’ll need to slightly bend/curve the grid while it’s still hot (or after reheating it gently) to fit it into the FloMask cover opening. Just push it in delicately — it should flex and settle nicely around the edges.

Assembled from Flo Mask insert “ring” from SteadiRob*, and a bunny svg pattern that I downloaded somewhere in the past - sorry I can't remember where :/…
