This is a simple drip tray indicator for Lelit Anna espresso machines (and other drip trays with the same hole diameter).
Sadly, the Lelit Anna does not come with an indicator on how full the drip tray is which can lead to a mess. This indicator will notice you in time when you need to empty the drip tray.
Original version was friction fitted, new version comes with a counter ring (see 2024 edit further down)
Can later be disassembled again for cleaning.
Printing:
Outer Shell & Ring: 100% infill for the walls to be solid
Floater: 1 % infill (Grid or lines) to be light and floaty but still give minimal structure
Depending on your print quality, it could help sanding down the floater pole (at least the “head”) to make sure that there is not too much friction for the floater to intially rise trough the shell when the water fills up.
Edit 2024:
After some time I noticed the shell to be falling out of the trayhole, and as making the shell even bigger and thus tighter led to issues with cleaning and durability of the part, I added a “counter ring” that goes on top of the tray and is clicked in place over the extruding bit of the shell. This can be done by inserting the shell first trough the hole, lightly fitting the ring on top, turning over the tray on its head and pressing down on the shell to click the ring in place. (You can still see the old design without the “counter ring” on the last 2 photos. If you prefer this version, just try out scaling up the “outer shell” file in your slicer by a few % until you are able to friction fit the shell in your tray. If you still want to use the “ring” on top of that, dont forget to scale that one up by the same %)
I also made a 2nd version of the indicator that is slightly smaller so it sticks out only very little when the tray is full enough to empty, and is thus optically less “ugly”.
I also suggest marking the top of the floater with red paint (or print it red if you want) to make it easier to see, especially for the shorter floater version.
