Printing instructions:

  • The easiest way is to open the 'Bambu studio (3mf)' file straight into Bambu studio. If you do this, it's best not to change any settings or orientations as I've configured each to be optimal for bed adhesion, model strength, and surface quality. You also don't need to follow the steps below - skip straight to assembly instructions.

  • If you use a different slicer, orient the parts as all of them have been oriented in the image below:

  • The ‘Stock’, and ‘Cannon front’ should have tree supports, and the ‘Stator’ (leftmost part above) and ‘Inner chamber’ parts should have normal supports.

  • The ‘Stator’, ‘Cannonball’, ‘Cannon front’, ‘Inner chamber’, and ‘Cannonball football’ parts should have brims.

  • The ‘Cannonball football’ part needs to be printed with a 0.08mm layer height or lower for the best quality.

Assembly instructions:

  1. Put a wheel over the thin side of one of the axles. Press down on a hard surface until there is a click and the end of the axle and one side of the wheel are flush with each other. The wheel should be able to spin on the axle. Repeat for the other wheel and axle.

  2. Rotate the an axle within its wheel until the axle is oriented correctly. This is how it should look from the front:

  3. Keeping the axle the right way up, push the thin end into one side of the stock. Repeat on the other side with the other connected wheel and axle pair.

  4. Set the assembled wheels and stock aside and get the inner chamber and stator pieces. Orient the stator the right way up (the side it was printed on is the top). Then slide the stator into the channel located in the middle of the inner chamber piece. Make sure the stator is oriented so that the thinner side of the buckle pieces is at the top. Slide it into the channel from below because that will be easiest.

  5. Slide the spring into the channel, starting with the side that the stator is on. You'll have to compress the spring a bit to get it in.

  6. Slide the inner chamber with the stator and spring into the cannon front. Make sure the inner chamber is still oriented correctly and make sure the cannon front is oriented correctly - the completely straight side of the cannon faces up. When it is mostly into the cannon front, it should be very difficult to slide it further - this is intentional because after this step you won't be able to disassemble it without breaking the stator. To get the inner chamber fully into the cannon front, put the front end of the cannon onto a hard surface and push the inner chamber from above. This should be enough to force it in.

  7. Push the side protrusion on the cannon front into the gap on the stock. It might be a little difficult because it's a snap fit joint, but it won't be as hard as the last one, and it's reversible.

  8. The cannon is ready to use!!! If you want to fire it, put the football or cannonball in the hole at the front end and then pull back and release the back part of the cannon. I hope you enjoy it!
