This is the retaining ring at the bottom of the gear / shifter / shift boot for a 986 Boxster or a 996 911 and possibly later models. It fits my 2000 986 Boxster S perfectly printed in PETG at 0.2mm layer height, 100% infill. I rotate it so it is standing on the long edge, then split it in half and glue it back together to avoid too much support.
I wrapped it in leather from a leather jacket and created a new shift knob
