A compilation of models that use suspended printing techniques.
This project has 3 models; a suspension string test, a suspended Ovenpheus decoration and a suspension bridge.
When I made this the largest challenge I had was getting through all the tedious work of setting up the strings. While testing with suspending prints I found that at the point of interface with the wall the string should go at least 2mm into the wall and have .2mm of clearence on the left and right. This is done so that the print is forced to do the strings in the correct motion. If there is no gap between the string and the wall then the slicer will fill it in before the string is made. If the string does not go into the wall the printer will drop one end in the air without connecting it properly. The printer needs to print the string in one continious motion or else it will fail.
