This model is engineered to achieve a high-precision interference fit by utilizing the controlled thermal expansion properties of PETG. The assembly process requires thermal activation to function as intended.
How It Works (Required Process)
Place the lid onto the main body.
Heat the printed insert on an induction cooktop at high power for approximately 12 seconds.
Remove the part and immediately press the humidity meter or gauge into position.
As the material cools, it contracts, creating a tight and accurate press fit.
Note: Heating is a required step. The part is not designed to be assembled at room temperature.
Recommended Material
PETG (required)
This design is tuned specifically for PETG’s thermal expansion and mechanical behavior. Other materials are unlikely to produce correct fitment.
Important Notes
Printer calibration is mandatory.
This model requires high dimensional accuracy.
Small deviations in:
flow rate
extrusion consistency
scaling
will directly affect fit performance.
Test prints are strongly recommended before final use.
Do not overheat the part. Excessive heat may cause deformation and loss of tolerance.
