Project details
My house was built using electrical hardware from series Bticino Magic (Legrand). These are rather old and many parts are not available anymore.
One of the connection boxes (built-in the wall), had recently added connections for electric blinds and Airco. All these connections use thick, stiff wires (2.5mm2), which makes it very difficult to accommodate (bend into place) and several Wago shunts are also in.
To my despair, the base part (the one that fixes to the box in the wall), simply broke. Tried to get a replacement but is not available. It was replaced (and is more or less compatible) by Bticino Matix series. Temporarily we removed the plugs and cover the whole box with cardboard.
I’ve bought new Matix plate, two plugs and a cover, but still it would not fit.
So, I had to design a fixation plate that raised the plugs from the
box outwards. I used my (purchased) “samples” and also some models available as open-source to establish
dimensions, position, etc. to ensure everything fitted.
To cover this, I also needed a cover part to match the raised position (about 43mm higher that original parts). This was the result.
Print details:
I used Elegoo PETG rapido on both parts. Base in grey and cover in beige. Nozzle 0.4mm and layer height 0.2mm.
I used supports only on the clicks step (base part). Probably can be done without supports also.
I hope someone find it useful.
