A HSW panel to cover the Core One L side window. Offset from the Core One L so that heat should not transfer and to sidestep the rivets poking out. Attached with grabbers on the top, front and back panel, aided by magnets.

Printing

  • Material: ASA. Other materials should be fine but due to ASA shrinkage the fit could be off a bit.

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm

  • Layer height: 0.15mm structural, 0.2 should be fine as well.

  • Infill: 15% gyroid, or whatever you prefer but for ASA I tend to prefer gyroid to reduce warping.

  • Perimeters: 4

  • Solid layers: 6 top, 5 bottom

  • Brim: should not be needed to prevent warping and. Feel free to enable if you're confident you can get a clean enough finish after removing the brim.

  • Supports: required for the grabbers, paint on supports around the HSW insert or use the provided gcode.

Bill of materials

Printed parts
  • 1x COL-HSW-side--panel.stl split in slicer to objects, it is pre-split.

  • 4x COL-HSW-side--grabber-vert.stl

  • 2x COL-HSW-side--grabber-horz.stl

  • 2x COL-HSW-side--grabber-horz-door.stl

  • optionally 2x COL-HSW-side--connector.stl

  • 12x HSW inserts (will be used to mount the grabbers and connectors). STL not provided, use empty-insert.stlfrom HSW or alternative.

Non-printed parts
  • 8x 10x3mm magnets

  • 8x M3x6mm socket screws

    • + optionally 4x M3x6mm socket screws for the connectors

Assembly

  1. Print all parts. If you struggle with bed adhesion of the grabber insert, make sure to clean the plate with dish soap and hot water. Additionally, reducing the number of parts might improve adhesion as parts have less time to cool and warp.

  2. Glue magnets into the grabbers and let dry.

  3. Optionally use the connectors to attach the 2 HSW panel pieces.

    1. Add the inserts near the panel split.

    2. Mount the connectors from the back of the HSW panels, screw holes facing outward.

    3. Screw in M3x6mm to lock the connectors place.

  4. Mount 4x HSW inserts in the top of the HSW panel.

  5. Mount the 4x vertical grabbers from the back of the HSW panels, grabber sticking back and away from the panel.

  6. Mount 2x HSW inserts on the most left and 2x HSW on the most right.

  7. Mount the 2x horizontal door grabbers (slim outward grabber) on the door side of the HSW panel, grabber sticking away from the panel.

  8. Mount the 2x horizontal grabbers (thicker outward grabber) on the non-door side of the HSW panel, grabber sticking from the panel.

  9. Place the assembly on the Core One L frame.

I did forget to snap a bunch of pictures during print and assembly, if assembly is not clear feel free to ping me I'll try and add any information that might be needed.
